Valencia Basket Players’ Performance in EuroBasket 2025

Italy’s elimination in the EuroBasket Round of 16 by 77–84 has brought an end to the “taronja” representation in the continental national team tournament. The new Valencia Basket point guard averaged 5.6 points and 2.5 assists for a 4.8 efficiency rating. His standout performance came against Bosnia, with 14 points and 4 assists in the victory.
For the first time, Valencia Basket had five players called up to the Spanish national team. The presence of Josep Puerto, Jaime Pradilla, Xabi López-Arostegui, Sergio De Larrea, and Yankuba Sima in the same game set a new record for the most “taronja” players appearing in an official national team match (the previous best was three). Spain was eliminated in the group stage.
Valencia Basket captain Josep Puerto made his debut with the national team in the final stage of a major tournament and played in all five games, averaging 4.4 points and 2.2 rebounds for a 5 efficiency rating. His best game came against Italy, with 9 points and 3 rebounds. Jaime Pradilla was one of Spain’s most efficient players, averaging 6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists for an 8.6 rating. His top performance was against Greece, with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and a 16 efficiency rating.
Xabi López-Arostegui finished the tournament with 4.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists for a 4.8 rating, highlighted by his game against Greece with 12 points and 6 rebounds for a 15 rating. Guard Sergio De Larrea was the second-most used player on the team despite it being his debut in a major tournament, starting in most games and averaging 5.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists for an 8.6 efficiency rating. Against Italy, he stood out with 15 points and 7 rebounds for a 17 rating. Yankuba Sima also made his debut in a major tournament at this EuroBasket, playing three games with averages of 1.3 points and 1 rebound
